Canberra Dog Walks leads social group walks every week for dogs and their humans. Walks are scheduled all over Canberra and often follow routes included in our self-guided walks.
All human walkers are welcome, with or without dogs. We run these walks on a not-for-profit basis. But to cover our costs, we ask $7.50 per human adult attending each walk. Children and dogs walk free. Payment is collected by the guide with a card reader at the beginning of the walk.
We use the Meetup platform to organise our social group walks, so you'll need to go to our Meetup page to join, rsvp and get automatic notifications about scheduled walks. Joining up costs $7.50 per year but your first walk each year is free.
We aim to provide an enjoyable and relaxed experience for both people and dogs. Generally our group walks:
- last between 1 and 2 hours (3-6 km)
- provide one or more optional off leash opportunities
- start and end at a dog friendly café
- follow a loop with minimal retracing of steps
- feature interesting stuff for humans too such as beautiful views, quirky sculptures or historic buildings
